Ten minute sketching... graphite
coloured pencil and watercolour
pencil - life drawing class
lots of short activities this week - mostly sketching in pencil with some watercolours. Although I am getting the urge to get the oils out again, maybe this weekend, as I'm NOT going to be shoving 3 cubic meters of garden soil :-)
love the one from life class especially... hope you do get the oils out ... much more fun than moving all that soil....
ReplyDeleteglad to have found your blog and looking forward to following and seeing more of your work...xx
Hi Tracey - thanks! and oh yeah - oils is way more fun than landscaping! Once the soils in - then it's my turn to plant :-) Thanks for dropping by!
DeleteLove your sketches, especially the legs are very well done and look easy and natural! HPPF!

DeleteThe sketches are great. a life class seems overwhelming to me to have to work so fast. Obviously, you have no problem with that. Great work. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteoh no - it was very overwhelming! I just had to take a deep breathe and just start! All my 2 min poses were stick/ gesture drawings (:-0... then I just had to keep breathing :-) ... and I found a couple of the 20 min poses worked much better... whew!

Hi Mary - Thanks! (How did you get those hearts in the comment??)
DeleteShe on top has such a whimsical look about her, love it. He looks pensive and busy in his head...and the legs, well, they are relaxing, something I hope to do soon.

Great sketches. I like them all, especially your life drawing class sketch.
ReplyDeleteLovely sketches. I like the legs!
ReplyDeleteGreat sketches! I've always wanted to go to a life drawing class but the idea also intimidates me.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristin, Giggles, Debbie, Denthe & Melisa :-) thanks for lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteRE: Life drawing- I've been thinking about this for years! And I can honestly say it was well worth it, I'll do it again, and it WAS very difficult.
Ugh, I got stuck into the gardens this weekend, I would much rather have been doing nearly anything else. Love the sketches, especially the life drawing one...beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteHi Natasha,
ReplyDeleteI was very lucky this weekend - normally I'm in there elbow to elbow with my hubby, shovelling, digging etc... but last time I was exhausted for a week, so he banned me! Instead I took my daughter shopping! How's that for love? We came back from a girly time out and all I did was help with a little mulching :-) I did bring him back an iced coffee and a citrus tart...
Love the graphite sketch :0)
ReplyDeleteI agree with tracey, that one from life class is spectacular. you captured the girl's "loungy" additude perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThe faces are good too, thanks for sharing.
Best,
Hi Jennifer - thanks! :-)

ReplyDeleteVery nice sketching and drawing. Really nice.
ReplyDeleteIt is always so interesting for me to see body/figure sketches. It is SO difficult for me...but, you have dome beautifully! :)
ReplyDeleteI like them all, but I think my favorite is the woman's portrait, I love her expression :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like this one too - it's my sister, and I'm just working of a instagram pic... its from her holiday in Thailand, and she's surrounded by lush greeness - I have plans to try a portait in oils or pastel based on it - sometime!
ReplyDeleteGreat sketches... I especially love the one of the crossed legs laying on the floor.
