sketching and painting

Ten minute sketching... graphite

coloured pencil and watercolour

pencil - life drawing class

lots of short activities this week - mostly sketching in pencil with some watercolours.  Although I am getting the urge to get the oils out again, maybe this weekend, as I'm NOT going to be shoving 3 cubic meters of garden soil :-)

  7. The sketches are great. a life class seems overwhelming to me to have to work so fast. Obviously, you have no problem with that. Great work. Happy PPF

    1. oh no - it was very overwhelming! I just had to take a deep breathe and just start! All my 2 min poses were stick/ gesture drawings (:-0... then I just had to keep breathing :-) ... and I found a couple of the 20 min poses worked much better... whew!

  10. She on top has such a whimsical look about her, love it. He looks pensive and busy in his head...and the legs, well, they are relaxing, something I hope to do soon.

RE: Life drawing- I've been thinking about this for years! And I can honestly say it was well worth it, I'll do it again, and it WAS very difficult.

  17. Ugh, I got stuck into the gardens this weekend, I would much rather have been doing nearly anything else. Love the sketches, especially the life drawing one...beautiful work.

  18. Hi Natasha,
I was very lucky this weekend - normally I'm in there elbow to elbow with my hubby, shovelling, digging etc... but last time I was exhausted for a week, so he banned me! Instead I took my daughter shopping! How's that for love? We came back from a girly time out and all I did was help with a little mulching :-) I did bring him back an iced coffee and a citrus tart...

  19. I agree with tracey, that one from life class is spectacular. you captured the girl's "loungy" additude perfectly.
The faces are good too, thanks for sharing.
